Pukerua Bay to Plimmerton Saturday 30 November

Another day walk of a popular local route.
Saturday, 30 November 2019

We assembled at Pukerua Bay railway station

The Goat Track leads down to the beach.

So down the Goat Track we went.

Of course we all needed a rest by then.

The sign described the historical significance of the area.

Keen, despite the threatening weather.

We headed for the biggest rock we could find ...

... which fortunately had a hole in it.

There were rocks of all sizes ...

... and caves on Waiweka Rock.

After a while we stopped for a breather.

And then on we went to find a lunch spot.

The shag was drying its feathers, as shags do.

The terns were faced into the strong northerly.

Lots more rocks, shingle and stones.

There were even some square rocks.

After a while, Mana Island came into view

The wind strengthened as we approached the entrance to Porirua Harbour.

Used car anyone?

Or a used container or three?

One last rock photo before the café stop.
