6 of us tramped into Waitewaewae hut last weekend.

It was a very pleasant trip and the weather was kind to us with only 1 or 2 very brief showers on Sunday. The "new" track that DoC put in 3 or 4 years ago is very overdue for some maintenance work with several trees down across the track that require a fair bit of dexterity to negotiate.

Tim camped out and the rest of us stayed in the hut which was full including several Te Araroa walkers. On Sunday we came out via Saddle creek and the Waitatapia Stream.
