Leader: David Williams

Kate, Sue and myself met at my place Saturday morning and headed for the Ruahine Range, destination Ellis Hut.

We stopped for coffee along the way, then walked the flat easy track to Ellis hut. We had the place to ourselves.....till 16 14 year-old boys turned up!! They were doing their Duke of Edinburgh award and all set up tents out back, with one of the adult leaders staying inside.

Sunday we walked along forestry roads, hid our packs and climbed up to bag Poutaki Hut. Coming back down, we walked the remainder of road and headed home after an enjoyable weekend.
