Four keen individuals headed north, had a mandatory coffee stop at Fielding and then arrived at the road end.

A nice sunny day as we ambled uphill, with lunch by the track side. We were the first to arrive at Rangiwahia Hut so all settled down in one bunk area. The afternoon was spent relaxing on the veranda reading and chatting to new arrivals. We watched a lovely sunset.

Sunday dawned as a whiteout with some wind. So we headed downhill again (instead of Deadman’s) and arrived home mid-afternoon.
