Leader: Dave and Nisa

On Friday we headed for Te Kopi in various cars, arriving at various times, and settled into the Homestead and Cottage (pleased we didn’t need to use the cabins).

Saturday morning people had a choice. Three got wet feet crossing the river 40 times to bag Tauanui Hut, two headed for Lake Ferry, and two chilled out in the Homestead.

The rest of us headed for the lighthouse for the morning. In the afternoon the weather had improved and we did a circuit above the Pinnacles and back to Te Kopi down the Washpool track. A very pleasant and leisurely three hours.

And then the highlight – the gourmet shared meal. Untold great food, and entertainment by our resident musicians.

On Sunday we tidied-up and headed home, with a coffee stop (naturally) in Martinborough.
