Hikurangi Range - Waterfall Hut Wellington Anniversary 19-21 January
A three day walk taking in the Hikurangi Range and Waterfall Hut. Saturday - Up the track from Kohunui road end to Purity Hut. Then on up to Wooden Peg on the Hikurangi Range. Then along to Iron Peg and south along the ridge to where we dropped down into the head of Pinnacle Creek. Then down the creek to the Kawhatau River and Waterfall Hut. Sunday - Down the Kawhatau River to where the track up to McKinnon Hut starts. Then up to the hut. Monday - Back up to the Hikurangi Range. Then along the range over Hikurangi, Mangaweka, Iron Peg, Wooden Peg and back down to the cars via Purity Hut.
