A Ruahine trip staying at Pourangaki Hut. Saturday - From the road end at Kohunui, up passed Purity Hut and along the Hawkes Bay Ridge section of the Hikurangi Range to Wooden Peg and Iron Peg. Then further along the range to the spur down to the Pourangaki River. Then up the river a short distance and up to Pourangaki Hut. Sunday - Up the track from the hut to the Whanahuia Range and over Pourangaki and along and down to Kelly Knight Hut. Then down the Pourangaki River siddle track and out along the farm land to the cars.
