Maharahara crossing Sunday 7 December
The Southern Ruahine Range is pretty narrow and can be crossed in just a few hours. We had a group start at each end and swap car keys in the middle.
And still pretty windy on the climb onto the ridge
.. but the leatherwood corridor provided good shelter higher up
