Corner Creek Campsite and Mt Matthews 21-22 November
A weekend camping at Corner Creek Campsite and a day walk up Mt Matthews. Saturday we tramped along the Wairarapa coast and up Mukamuka Stream to the South Saddle and up to Mt Matthews. Then back to the campsite for the night.
A pleasant walk along the Wairarapa coast
Exit stage right to Mukamuka Stream

The south saddle is the notch between the hills centre right, Mt Matthews hidden behind far right hill

A short climb through the bush
And we were at the south saddle - looking back from whence we'd come
Looking into the Orongorongo Valley
The climb up to the next bump

We made the top and were rewarded with this view
Back down we went
Back into Mukamuka Stream
Almost back at the sea
Looking back up the valley bathed in evening light
Tents up
Now for a victory beer..wait we forget the beer...NNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
