Starting out from Titahi Bay

A couple of K's along some tracks and roads...

...then down to the beach

Twas a great day for walking along the beach

Open Bay

A great spot for lunch

We had a few rock scrambles along the way

Nothing we couldn't handle though

Saw some fantastic rock formations

Great Uncle Owen brought his bestest pack

And his bestest boots

Puff Daddy

We had to lower our packs here and climb down a rock crack

Mana and Kapiti Islands

Boom Rock Lodge was around the corner (above us, slightly north)

Boom Rock Lodge from above (I stole this from their website hehe)

We made our destination for the night - it was a stunning bay

Hill cam

Out to Sea cam (the hill was our first climb of the day Sunday)

Tents all set up

and Flys

The club arsonist in his 'happy space'...not a care in the world

We feasted on paua we'd caught earlier...they were beautiful

Glorious sunset

Photo of (L-R) Wayne Williams, Tony Robinson jnr, Grant Stotte, Wayne's younger brother Selwyn Williams. The bach they built age 15 in the bay.

Swimming in the bay

The bach from afar

Makara wind farm

Sidling the steep hillside above the bay we stayed in

While Great Uncle Owen took the smart route up

Wayne watching the progress

The view from the top towards Makara

We climbed down into a stream

The girls working their way down

Figuring out how to get down the waterfall

We did!

Then had a shower under the waterfall...move over Nev!

Queen E had a go as well

Nicely clean we headed off

Boom Rock - gets it name from the sea pounding against it, making a 'boom' noise...interesting or what zzzzz

The last swim of the weekend

Reaching Makara

and across the stream

A group came in from Makara and met us...here are some of their photos

By the previous waterfall, Boom Rock on the right
