Drop off
and goodbye
Hauroko Burn Hut
Mud was a theme of the trip
DW
21 three wire bridges to cross
Marcia
Halfway Hut (lots of mice in residence)
Glad we brought nets for the sandflies
They were the worst we've seen
Lake Laffey
Lake Roe Hut
Off exploring above Lake Roe
Marian
Lake Roe
Hill of webs
Took ages for the mist to lift
Found some snow to play on
Unnamed lake
Five Kea came to visit
GUO
Steep descent to unnamed lake
Mount Cook Lilly
GUO was brave enough to swim
We were luck to see five Rock Wren (just the coolest birds)
We had a quick skinny dip in Lake Roe
Next day we climbed onto the Pleasant Range...it was rather pleasant
Julie
A nice spot for a swim
...and a cuppa
Look out towards Supper Cove and Dusky Sounds
Loch Maree Hut is on the bump mid photo
Was a nasty steep 700m descent
Longest bridge had a kink or two
Loch Maree Hut
We followed old trails made by gold miners to Supper Cove
That's handy!
Sidle track was a bit rubbish
Super Cove Hut
Tide was out next day so we could walk the beach rather than the sidle track
almost back at Loch Maree Hut for another night
Shows how high the water comes up
MUD MUD MUD
Okay, don't step there!!
Kintail Hut
Julie's soles came off after 2 days and we kept on with nails, wire and string
