Leader: Owen Cox
We met up at the park in Days Bay. The trip started with a climb over the ridge behind Days Bay.
We then walked south along the ridge to Hawtrey. From Hawtrey we headed down a spur, off track, to Gollans Stream. That took a couple of hours. Once we hit the stream we headed down the stream, crossing and recrossing it and following tracks along the banks. Some distance down we stopped for lunch. The area is heavily trapped so we passed quite of few traps including one with a recently caught dead possum.
We continued down to the Butterfly Creek picnic area and then went out via the Butterfly Creek track to Eastbourne. It was then a short stroll around the road to Days Bay where we finished in the pavilion for milk shakes, coffee or beer.
Those on the trip were:
Chantal Heller, Elisabeth Hynes, Jing Zhou, Kate Livingston, Marian Cox, Neville Grubner, Niamh Dunne, Nisa Promchot, Owen Cox, Penny Currier, Rob Dey, Yingjun Shelton, Sue Douglas
