Leader: Owen Cox
This was an easy-medium walk on the Sunday of Labour weekend for those not on longer trips.
We left the Catchpool car-park around 10 am. After brief play with dynamo-powered bird sound things we walked along the 5 mile at a leisurely pace. We had a stop for a snack by the river just upstream from the arched bridge.
Our route out was back up the 5 mile to the Cattle Ridge track. This track climbs a bit and is more of a track than the benched and graded 5 mile. Very active trapping along the Cattle Ridge track and a few dead possums hanging in traps. At about hour up we stopped for lunch. After lunch it was a short distance up to the Butchers track which we took back to the 5 mile near the car park.
A good day in the bush. In all just over 4 hours walking and the threat of rain never really eventuated. We had mainly overcast skies with a very brief period of a few fine rain drops.
Those on the trip were:
Kate Livingston, Owen Cox, Sue Sparkes
Currently there is no photo album for this trip.
