17-22 October 2021
Leader: Bryan Wild
Sunday 17th October – Friday 22nd October. The August ski trip had to be cancelled due to Covid and we had already gone into another lockdown again.
However as things began to get back to some sort of normality we had the chance to take up an October slot which had become vacant at the ski lodge due to a cancellation. It was quite late in the season and this had to be factored in as it meant good skiing through only until around 1:00pm but after that the conditions were too soft for good downhill stuff.
And so Glenda, Chris, Brandon and Bryan made it up to the ski field for a late week in the snow. The mountain was almost empty of people but fortunately not of snow. Even though the snowline was quite high up we managed to get in some very good skiing on the upper mountain and had lots and lots! of fun. It wasn’t possible to ski down to the bottom as the snow disappeared at about the area of the waterfall.
We had 2 very good bluebird days with the sun getting a bit hot by midday. Plus we had one ‘iffy’ day and one not so good day. All in all it was above average so everybody was happy.
We had both the ski lodge and the mountain almost entirely to ourselves and I think on two days we were making the first tracks in the snow at the top of the Valley ski run. It was a great week and great company.
Those on the trip were:
Brandon Holman, Bryan Wild, Chris Keating, Glenda Robb
Currently there is no photo album for this trip.
