Kapiti Cycling

Sunday 24 April 2022

Leader: Susan Robertson

Who said that April is the cruellest month? The 24th was a glorious day - sunny, windless and mild.

About half the population on the Kapiti Coast had decided it was a perfect day to be out cycling - and so it was.

We began on the expressway cycle route up to Peka Peka. The garden centre café there was doing a roaring trade - but we had other plans. A further three-quarters of an hour along pretty, rural roads saw us at the Ruth Pretty café in Te Horo.

For the return journey we split into two groups after Peka Peka, with some deviating through Waikanae and others travelled back along the expressway. A late picnic lunch was then enjoyed at that well known local beauty spot - the seating area next to the staff carpark at Kapiti Primary School.

Those on the trip were:

Brandon Holman, Chris Keating, Dave Cox, Glenda Robb, Sandra Rowland, Susan Robertson
