The second leg of the Peru trip, a six day circuit around Peru's second higest mountain Ausangate
Friday, 12 June 2015

We arrived in a field and unpacked the van

Dale and Rex made friends

While we ate lunch

Our circuit was anti-clockwise over six days

And off we went

followed closely by the horses

This little fella got chased by a dog and was frightened

So I taught him how to take photos with my camera...he was a natural (umm I'm up here!!)

We eventually got off the dirt road

Camp the first night

It was chilly the next morning as we headed off

Pistol and Raul - we convinced him to come on the second trip

Peru is rich in minerals

Our big climb up to the pass

Lunch stop half way up

Hungry looking bunch don't you think

and off again

Almost there

The top - 5,200m

We all gave an offering to Ausangate (coca leaves and sugar)

Give us a couple of hours and we'd knock the bastard off I reckon

Heading down the other side

Our camp for night three

The muleteers were great guys and always laughing
