Eleven keen cyclists set off from Wellington Railway Station. Along Thorndon Quay, Old Hutt Road, Ngauranga Gorge, Johnsonville, Middleton Road. We then followed a very pleasant cycle trail from Takapau railway station along the Porirua Stream all the way to Porirua. The cycle trail took us along the eastern side of the Aotea lagoons and back over the foot bridge at Paremata, along beside the railway through Paremata to Plimmerton and up to Pukerua Bay. Then to Paekakariki with another stop at Finns. Then on along the waterfront and the QE2 park trail. Then along Poplar Ave to the pleasant expressway cycle trail. Each of us broke off along the way to head home.
